The Texans didn't just lose a defensive coordinator when they fired Wade Phillips this week, they also lost a luxury suite holder.
Phillips was fired after the Texans announced they'd be hiring Bill O'Brien as their new coach. Phillips' unit gave up a dismal 26.8 points per game in 2013, and in three games as interim coach (after Gary Kubiak was fired) Phillips went 0-3.
The 66-year-old Phillips sent out this tweet after learning the news:
Thanks to McNair family and great Texan fans and most all our players. It was wonderful being home. I wish the best to all

But the Texans weren't done with Phillips. Apparently Phillips was contacted by the Texans' suite sales department about renewing his luxury suite. Pretty awkward if you ask us.
Phillips sent out this sly tweet regarding the incident:
To Texan suite sales-I am sorry, but because of recent changes I will Not renew my purchase of a suite.Hope u understand. Wade Phillips

Well, at least he has a sense of humor about the whole situation. Not every coach in his situation would be so quick with a joke.
