British Pole Vaulter's Unique Consolation Prize

For Holly Bleasdale, all was well that ended well.

Bleasdale, a British pole vaulter, started Sunday on a poor note. The 20-year-old failed to clear 15 feet in the pole vault finals, and she wound up placing sixth in the field.

Just hours later, Bleasdale's day got considerably better. That's because her boyfriend, Paul Bradsahw, proposed to her. She said yes, and as is the custom, tweeted her elation.

So while Bleasdale may have missed out on a medal around her neck, she still managed to finish the day with some metal on her finger.
