Less than two months after the 9/11 attacks, President George W. Bush took the mound at Yankee Stadium to deliver the first pitch for Game 3 of the 2001 World Series. Despite having to wear a bulletproof vest under his FDNY sweatshirt, Bush fired a strike. Other first pitches, with considerably less scrutiny and pressure involved, didn't quite go according to plan.
