As the country mourns the victims of the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, sports teams found unique ways over the weekend to pay tribute.
-
The Heat had a moment of silence before the game Saturday against the Washington Wizards where several players stood with their children. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James also honored the shooting victims with messages on their shoes.

The Giants receiver found out over the weekend that he was the favorite player of one of the victims of the shooting, 6-year-old Jack Pinto. So Cruz honored Pinto by writing Pinto's name and a special message for the boy on the shoes he wore for the Giants matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Many more athletes took to Twitter to voice their sorrow and offer prayers to those affected by the tragedy.
