1. Rings All Around
While New York Giants rookie linebacker Greg Jones won a Super Bowl ring Sunday night, the Michigan State product was more worried about another ring. Just moments after winning Super Bowl 46, Jones proposed to his long time girlfriend, Mandy, on the field with his teammates all around him. The Giants proved on the flight back home that Beyonce is not the only one who can sing about rings.
2. Flipping The Bird
Before the Super Bowl halftime show, the majority of Americans associated the letters MIA with the common phrase missing in action. Today the letters represent the rapper who flipped America at Lucas Oil Stadium last night. Sasha Frere-Jones of the New Yorker explains why MIA should not have apologized for her actions. How can you possibly defend someone for such a horrid gesture on the most watched halftime performance in television history?
3. Tell Us How You Really Feel
MIA's middle finger was not the only highlight of the Super Bowl halftime show. Several celebrities such as Dane Cook, Will Ferrell and Metta World Peace sounded off on Twitter about Madonna and her halftime extravaganza. I guess I wasn't the only one who thought that Vince Wilfork was performing in between quarters with Madonna.
4. Not So Golden Anymore
After losing Super Bowl 46 to the Giants, Tom Brady is now 3-2 in the big game, so the Golden Boy might not be the second coming of his childhood idol Joe Montana. SB Nation's Bomani Jones examines Brady's legacy. Eli may not be better than brother Peyton, but it is hard to argue that Brady is the quarterback of this generation after his second Super Bowl loss to the Giants QB.
5. Crashing The Party
The players and members of the New York Giants organization were not the only ones kissing the Vince Lombardi trophy after their 21-17 victory over the Pats. Biff Henderson of CBS' Late Show with David Letterman got his lips on the sacred trophy in one of the funniest post game moments ever. So much for Henderson's professionalism, but can you blame him for kissing the trophy when it was right in front of his face.
