In breaking news, the NBA lockout is still ongoing. Sportspickle.com has posted a screenshot of a faux NBA.com front page design, which includes plenty of David Stern and WNBA love.
3. LaBarbera's Tillman Tribute
Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Jason LaBarbera will pay tribute to U.S. soldiers across the world with his new mask that features a rendering of Pat Tillman and has a desert camouflage background. LaBarbera will donate $420 for every win. Good thing he's not on the 1974-75 Washington Capitals, who went 8-67-5.
4. Painting The Ice Pink
Missouri State is taking the idea of colorful courts/fields to the ice to honor breast cancer awareness, by laying down pink ice for an event this weekend. So if you're watching, yes, the ice is pink, and no, you haven't slipped into the world of Disney's "Fantasia."
5. LeBron Plays Football
On Tuesday LeBron James participated in a full-scale practice with the Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Division III football team, wearing full pads and equipment. Since before he was even drafted, people have debated whether James would succeed in the NFL; maybe the current lockout is a sign that now is the time to find out.
