Defenseman Alexander Karpovtsev, who was killed Wednesday in Russia when the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team plane crashed, was among the first Russians to have his name on the Stanley Cup. Karpovtsev, Alexei Kovalev, Sergei Zubov and Sergei Nemchinov were on the 1994 Rangers.
