Turns out the National Football League isn't the only big-time sports league interested in America's top exonerated athlete.

Brian Banks wasted six years in prison for a rape he didn't commit. The girl who claimed she was the victim has since admitted the story was a pack of lies. Now the former star high school football player from Southern California is dreaming of an NFL career.

While several pro football teams have indeed
offered Banks tryouts
, he's also received a very surprising job offer from a Major League Baseball franchise.

Derrick Hall, president of the Diamondbacks, was so touched by Banks' positive attitude following his horrific ordeal, that he has offered the former star high school football player a front office gig.

Hall wrote a letter to Banks, according to Fox 10 News Phoenix. The former Dodgers executive and Los Angeles morning radio personality told Banks that should his NFL dreams come up empty, he's ready to hire him.

"I realize in watching several of your interviews that you still have a desire to play football and are looking for tryouts," Hall wrote. "I would like to offer the Diamondbacks as an opportunity should you change your mind or not come across any playing prospects."

After letting Banks know he can contact him directly, Hall wished the freed football star the best of luck.

Forget showdowns with the Giants, Cowboys and Redskins. Michael Vick is involved in a legal showdown months before the NFL season begins.

Vick is accused of not living up to his end of a six-figure sports memorabilia deal with a Las Vegas based company. Now the Philadelphia Eagles star may be returning to a court room to fight the lawsuit.

Vick allegedly received more than $100,000 after he agreed to provide "Game Used Equipment" to J.O. Sports in a deal he gave the green light to in August 2011.

Furthermore, Vick is accused of blowing off scheduled public appearances and autograph signings for the sports collectables company, and was supposed to allow the business the right to set up social media sites for Vick's use.

The Eagles star claims he terminated the deal with J.O. Sports in October of 2011 after hearing that Jarrod Oldridge of the company was indicted for fraudulent business practices, according to PhillyMag.com.

Oldridge is accused of things such has messing around with game jerseys to make them seem like they were game-worn, when in fact they weren't. He's pleaded guilty to mail fraud in the case.

"My primary concern is for my fans," Vick told Phillymag.com through his P.R. firm. "If my fans want to buy game-used memorabilia, it is important that the merchandise is 100 percent authentic. I will not support a company that is accused of misleading fans. It is an easy decision to make."

In addition to the lawsuit, Vick will soon have two reasons to celebrate. He's scheduled to get married next month in Miami and reportedly will be off probation for his federal dog fighting conviction soon.

Mike Tyson has lived a packed and polarizing life, from the youngest heavyweight champion to a rape conviction, three marriages, seven children and now movie stardom. But he's about to do something for the very first time that many Americans take for granted, which has him very excited.

"I think about what's gonna be the great moment of my time now. I've never been able to vote and I'm a felon. My wife told me I'm able to vote and that's awesome for me," Tyson told the Mike Missanelli Show on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia.

You read that right, Iron Mike Tyson at age 45, is about to vote for the first time.

Indiana is indeed one of 13 states along with Washington D.C. that allow people with felony convictions to vote upon release from prison. Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Utah are the other states, according to ProCon.org.

Tyson is galvanized by his new found political power.

"Yeah, I've never voted in my life," Tyson announced. "Being a Southerner I realized before that at one time that privilege was taken away from you. That's just what I hope. I hope my children, especially my son, are able to vote."

Obviously everyone wants to know, is Tyson going to endorse another term for President Barack Obama or his GOP challenger Mitt Romney?

"I gotta figure that out, because I don't think I'm a Democrat. I don't know if i'm a Republican," Tyson disclosed to 97.5 The Fanatic Philadelphia. "I don't know what I am, you know what I mean? But I want to vote."

Tyson seemed to lean toward supporting Obama, however he really sounds more like a voter advocate.

"I want to say I voted for a black president and he did the right thing. But if you're the black president or white president, this is what I've known all my life, even if he's a Republican, Independent, or Democrat, it's always me that always survives," Tyson declared.

Iron Mike has your back.

"I have to look at life from a broader prospective, more than just myself…and I have to make sure thousands and thousands, or millions and millions of people say the same thing, regardless of who's the president 'I survived,'" Tyson said.

Could it be a new celebrity couple?

It's much too soon to say for sure, but Olympic snowboarding legend Shaun White used his best moves to impress Maxim's "Hottest Woman in the World" during a night out over the Memorial Day weekend in Manhattan.

Bar Refaeli was spotted "dancing, hugging and kissing" the gold medalist into the early morning hours, according to the New York Post. White visited the SoHo lounge Sway with five friends early Monday, more worried about his cellphone than working the room.

Around 1:30 a.m. Refaeli walked in to meet "The Flying Tomato" and sparks flew when the couple got together. They were "all over each other," "dancing, hugging and kissing," according to the Post.

The group downed bottles of vodka, wine and Jack Daniels. But they reportedly stiffed the staff, taking off without leaving a tip.

A professional snowboarder and skateboarder from San Diego, White is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. Refaeli, who dated Leonardo DiCaprio, has appeared on the cover of SI's Swimsuit Issue and a number of other magazines including GQ, ELLE and Maxim during her modeling career.

White, 25, and Refaeli, 26, also spent time riding bicycles around Central Park over the weekend.

Just last week the Israeli model was complaining to Conan O'Brien on his late night TBS show that she struggled to get a date. "Let's put it out there, no one hits on me, I don't get hit on by guys, no one flirts with me, it's very sad actually," she said.

In short, it appears that Shaun White has solved that problem.

An 11-year-old girl is recovering from a horrifying 20-foot fall at a Major League Baseball game, but this had nothing to do with the game itself.

Emily Davis was enjoying the rock-climbing wall at the new Marlins Park in Miami, but when she reached the top, her safety harness failed, causing her to go flying down forcibly to the solid pavement with no protective padding around to break her tumble.

NBC Miami reports the young girl's father was recording the entire calamity on his cell phone as his daughter plunged. She was the first to climb the wall during Saturday's baseball game. Her dad believes the steel cable wasn't actually connected to the safety harness.

“It's heart-wrenching to know that she went through that and she had that impact,” Emily’s mother, Peggy Davis told the TV station. “Twenty feet up in the air, it's your worst nightmare.”

As of Monday night little Emily was at a Miami area hospital in a neck collar, with a concussion and body pain, according to her family.

The Marlins immediately closed the rock-climbing wall as they attempt to find out what went wrong.

You can either consider the following numbers with a grain of salt or consider them the gospel of truth.

Manchester United claims to have 659 million fans around the world. The iconic English Premiere League franchise revealed the results of a survey performed by Kantar Media that showed they have DOUBLED their worldwide fan base in the last five years, since a similar study was done in 2007.

Some 71 million of the 313 million U.S. population are fans. In other words, 22.6 percent of Americans support Man U.

The statistics are even more jaw dropping elsewhere. Forbes reports that Manchester United claims 90 million supporters in Europe, 173 million in Middle East and Africa, 325 million in Asia Pacific, including 108 million in China.

Kantar Media interviewed some 54,000 people in 39 countries to come up with the numbers that have left many flabbergasted. Overall, soccer has 1.6 billion followers globally, as it remains the world's king of all sports.

Manchester United's worth an astonishing $2.24 billion, according to Forbes, with the club's TV channel broadcast in 54 countries with a potential audience of over 1.2 billion. Soon that number will grow even higher as they expand into India and China.

Although 659 million supporters is certainly impressive, Man U has plenty of room to expand its fan base with over seven billion humans sharing planet earth.

While most people were enjoying a relaxing Memorial Day weekend with family and friends, Joe Girardi was revealing a long unknown childhood secret.

The Yankees skipper pretty much ate nothing but Cap'n Crunch for an entire year when he was an 8-year-old growing up in Peoria, Illinois. It turns out a train carrying the delicious breakfast cereal derailed near his mother's family home, causing a massive number of Cap'n Crunch cartons to go flying off the train.

For the most part, the Girardi family took full advantage of the situation.

"We had so much Cap'n Crunch over the next year it was amazing," Girardi told the New York Times. "And to this day, I still like Cap'n Crunch. It's rough on the roof of your mouth, though."

Ironically, the 2006 NL Manager of the year from his time with the Marlins, banned most sweets in the Bronx Bombers clubhouse.

When Girardi eats his cereal these days, he leaves the milk in the fridge, the 47-year-old Yankees skipper is lactose intolerant.

In addition, despite having fond memories of chowing down on Cap'n Crunch as a kid, he tells ESPN New York his own children are only allowed to eat cereal on weekends.

It was a Memorial Day memory that many of the 42,000 fans who attended Monday's Braves games won't forget anytime soon.

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. David Sims delivered a memorable video message to his family from Afghanistan on the Turner Field jumbotron. The special statement was part of the Braves weekly "hometown heroes" celebration. While Sims was talking in the distance, his wife Robin and the couple's four children watched from the scoreboard from the first base line.

"I love you so much, I miss you, I hope you're having fun watching the Atlanta Braves," Sims said in the video, according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. “I can’t wait to be with you again. In fact, wait one minute.”

Then abracadabra, Sims walked out of the Braves dugout and onto the field when his children ages 10-13, spotted dad and sprinted for an emotional family hug in front of the packed crowd watching the game with the Cardinals.

Sims, stationed at Robins Air Force Base, spent 24 hours traveling from the middle east back to Georgia. He had stops in Kurdistan, Germany, Ireland and Baltimore before ending up at Turner Field. The family ended up receiving VIP treatment from the Braves. Watching the remainder of the game next to the Braves dugout in the owner's box.

This wasn't the first unexpected return from Master Sgt. Sims, his wife says he's thrown the family a curveball before, if you will.

"I had a suspicion, but he still surprised me in the end," she told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I thought he would be here. I watch one too many television shows and one of my favorite ones is 'Coming Home.' And last time he deployed he came home in a Christmas box, so it’s not past him to surprise me."

Sims credited his wife for holding the family together while he's been serving his country. "I have such love and respect for my wife, because for the past six months she has done such a fantastic job of taking care of the kids and the house and being responsible without me. I'm so proud of her and she is my hero."

It was a magical day for this Military family who had plans to visit a burger joint after the game. Sims said he wanted to grub on some "American food," with a "greasy burger" being the focus of his appetite.

Sims, from a military family, has served 14 years and counting.

It's not often the most successful player in his sport isn't the breadwinner at home.

Sure, Tom Brady has three Super Bowl rings and loads of endorsements, but he's not close to bringing home as much bacon, or filet mignon if you will, as his famous bride. Gisele Bundchen has parlayed the title as world's most powerful supermodel into a $45 million financial windfall in 2011. Thats a jaw dropping 66 percent more than her famous husband.

Forbes reports Bundchen, 31, earns her riches from modeling, endorsement deals and independent licensing ventures. Consequently, the native of Brazil and mother of one is the 60 most powerful woman in the world.

Of course, it's hard to have much pity for her Patriots quarterbacking husband, as Brady earned $27 million in 2011, according to Forbes, via CNBC's Darren Rovell. The former Michigan player is ranked higher than Jerry Seinfeld, Tom Hanks and Alex Rodriguez on the Forbes celebrity list.

Together Brady, 34, and Gisele earned more than $72 million. They reside in Brentwood, Calif., during the NFL offseason.
