The sample size is small, but Michigan might have a branding problem on its hands.
That's the University of Michigan.
The Wolverines. In Ann Arbor.
Consider the Coyote Hockey City Classic, which was held Saturday at Chicago's Soldier Field featuring a doubleheader with Miami University and Western Michigan in the opener and then Michigan State and Michigan.
Compressor issues forced faceoff to be delayed more than 90 minutes for each game as temperatures climbed into the 40s in the Windy City. You can't control the weather, but you can make sure you're referring to one of the teams by its proper name.
For $8, fans at Soldier Field could be a souvenir puck reading, "Michigan University."
Who is the hockey puck that did this?

Whoops. That had to get a laugh out of the rival Spartan crowd. Even if the Wolverines won 4-1.
Of course, just five days earlier, college football recruit Roquan Smith listed "Michigan University" as one of his finalists. He committed to UCLA and avoided getting an earful from Jim Harbaugh.
