The 18-inning affair between the San Francisco Giants and the Washington Nationals was extra agonizing for a newly married couple and their wedding guests.
The bride, Courtney, and the groom, Chasen, are die-hard San Francisco fans who were in the midst of their Giants-themed wedding during Game 2 of the NLDS. As a wedding guest noted on Twitter, Courtney and Chasen refused to cut the cake until the Giants-Nationals game ended.
Unfortunately for them, it turned out to be the longest contest in MLB postseason history.
Forunately for them, the Giants won.

The game started at 2:37 p.m. in California, where the wedding was being held, and ended 6 hours and 23 minutes later. The bride and groom finally cut the cake around 9 p.m. local time:
