"Sharknado 2: The Second One" premieres tonight (Wednesday) on SyFy. It's a sequel to the instant cult classic "Sharknado," which debuted on July 11, 2013, on SyFy. Starring Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, "Sharknado" is essentially "Jaws" with the TV following of the "High School Musical" series, although with more adult viewers than tweens.

On Tuesday, SyFy released some Sharknado clips, including a minute and a half of action at Citi Field. In what appears to be a climatic scene in the film, Mets fans (the upper deck is empty, so there are not many of them) race out of the stadium to flee a storm.

The Citi Field grounds crew can barely hold down the tarp, which would have been more realistic if the crosstown rival Yankees grounds crew had been involved. It is also amusing that the fans are genuinely frustrated with the game being postponed and not having to actually watch the Mets play. Then again, the rush to the 7 Train is nothing to be excited about either.

Tough film love for The Amazin's, especially on the same day the Phillies sprayed three home runs over Citi Field for a 6-0 Mets defeat.

If it is any consolation, Ziering threw out the first pitch at Citi Field before Bartolo Colon took the hill for the Mets on Monday.
