Derek Holland's solid year just got a little bit better.

The Texas Rangers lefty posted career highs this year in innings pitched (213), strikeouts (189) and WAR (3.3) while managing a career-low 3.42 ERA.

And even though Texas missed out on the playoffs, Holland is having a very enjoyable October. That's because the 27-year-old has been on the set of the highly anticipated movie Dumb and Dumber To. You see, after filming a video skit this summer in which he re-enacted part of the original film, Holland scored a cameo in the sequel.

Here's Holland's video:

And here's the scene from Dumb and Dumber:

The video caught the attention of directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly, and they invited Holland to have a small cameo in the sequel.

"I'm thrilled to death," Holland told ESPNDallas. "I'm very, very, very excited. I can't really say too much. I have to keep it a secret. But it's my favorite movie."

This week Holland tweeted a photo from the set:
