Royce White, the skilled big man whose general anxiety disorder and fear of flying caused a rift between him and the Houston Rockets last year, took a step in the right direction this week when he flew with the Philadelphia 76ers to a preseason game in Charlotte.

“I want to get some practice flying,” White said earlier in the week. “I want to be there with my teammates.”

White tweeted several photos of the trip:

White was supposed to travel with the team to Spain and England several weeks ago, but he did not end up making the trip. Thus the game against the Bobcats, in which White started and tallied four rebounds and two points in 26 minutes, was his first true away game with the 76ers.

White did not play in a single game for the Rockets last year, so he is slowly working his way into form. After publicly feuding Houston, who selected White with the 16th pick of the 2012 NBA draft, White seems to be much more comfortable in Philadelphia.
