As the rest of the country was recovering from crazy Fourth of July barbecues or escaping to the beach, New Orleans guard Jrue Holiday and U.S. women's soccer midfielder Lauren Cheney got married. The two have been dating since they were both standout athletes at UCLA and were engaged last sumer.
According to Evan Turner's Twitter account, it wasn't all fun and games getting there. Turner reported his limo broke down, snapping some photos as they waited on the side of the road.
"We almost died in this burnt up limo," Andre Iguodala testified in an Instagram video posted by Turner. "It's ok though, we got out."

Despite Turner and Iguodala's troubles, the wedding went on.

From what we've gathered from social media, attendees included many of Holiday's former 76ers teammates (he was traded last month). Cheney, who currently plays for the NWSL's FC Kansas City, received well wishes from her club on Twitter as well.
In an interview earlier this year with Philly.com, Cheney said the two managed to spend time during Holiday's offseason, when he came out to where she was based to train.
"Being engaged has been awesome," she added. "Obviously, planning a wedding is not quite my thing, but knowing that I'm going to be with him for the rest of my life has been quite a cool feeling."
