It seems Alex Rodriguez isn't winning over many fans in his trip in the minor leagues -- or having much fun. The Yanks' star was hit with a pitch Saturday night by Cody Scarpetta, 24, a right-handed pitcher for the Brevard County, Fla. Scarpetta told the New York Daily News he had admired Rodriguez and had just lost control when he hit him.

"I was really trying to throw it for a strike and it just went the other way," Scarpetta told the newspaper. "It was the last thing I was trying to do because that loaded the bases, but it definitely slipped."

His grandmother, on the other hand, said she was proud of her grandson.

"I think he thinks he's kind of a hotshot. I don't care for his personality," Scarpetta's grandmother, Marilyn Meyers, said of A-Rod. "He just thinks he’s better than the other boys."

Meanwhile, Rodriguez's teammate, Derek Jeter got his first hit in his minor league rehab stint.
