The Houston Texans' highly publicized courtship of free agent safety Ed Reed hit a snafu that was unrelated to either side's position.

Rather, the cause of the early termination to the talks was the popular singer Pitbull.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle said, the Texans and Reed had to cut short their meeting to avoid the humongous crowd descending upon Reliant Stadium for Pitbull's concert on Friday night as part of RodeoHouston. A near record crowd of 75,217 attended this year's event.

Houston has made no secret of its desire to sign the veteran safety. The organization sent general manager Rick Smith on the team's private jet to pick up Reed, which is a rare move for any franchise.

And while Pitbull may have put a temporary kabosh on the talks, they are far from over. McClain said he still expects Reed to sign with the Texans. But the Ravens aren't out of the picture.
