As if Calvin Johnson's record-breaking season wasn't impressive enough, a new report suggests that the Detroit Lions star might have played most of the year with at least two broken fingers.

A story in the Detroit News notes that Johnson, who broke Jerry Rice's single-season receiving record in 2012, has been seen around town with his hand wrapped.

Johnson missed some practices this year with ankle and knee injuries, but he was never understood to have hurt his fingers.

Making the situation more interesting is Detroit coach Jim Schwartz's response to questions regarding Johnson's fingers.

"I am not going to comment on any of our players' health," Schwartz told reporters at the NFL Combine. "But that's not uncommon for a wide receiver."

This certainly isn't an admission that Johnson did have broken fingers, but you've got to wonder why Schwartz wouldn't flat out deny the rumors if they weren't true.
