After a frustrating sophomore season, Cam Newton is making it up to himself by having loads of fun in the offseason.

The star quarterback has gone back to Auburn to complete his college degree. Newton's been taking classes, getting serenaded and even leading the student section at basketball games.

This week Newton was back in the news after helping an Air Force serviceman stationed in New Mexico propose to his girlfriend on the radio.

While the airman, Brian, is a Panthers fan, he didn't actually know that Newton would be on the call. So you can imagine his surprise to hear Newton's voice when he called in to Charlotte's KISS 95.1.

"Cam, really?" Brian said. "Great to talk to you! This is amazing."

When Kim got on the phone, she too was flabbergasted to hear Newton on the line.

“Wait, what? No, shut up,” Kim said. “What is this? This is so cool!"

Newton set up Brian's question, and after a lovely proposal, all Kim could say was, "I can't believe Cam Newton is on the phone!"

After a prompting from the DJs, Kim quickly accepted Brian's proposal.

You can listen to the entire proposal here.
