When San Antonio Spurs guard-forward Stephen Jackson sprained his ankle last week while playing the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, it appeared that he fell into a waitress after launching a three-pointer from the corner of the court.

But now it appears that Jackson may have been pushed into the server, by none other than New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

During a press conference this week, Bloomberg admitted to slightly nudging Jackson.

"He didn’t fall on her," Bloomberg said. "He came close and I just pushed him a little bit."

While Bloomberg is pulling for both the Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets to make the playoffs, he swore that he was not trying to give the Knicks an added advantage with his push.

“I wasn’t helping [the Knicks]," Bloomberg said.
