Alfred Morris is fast enough to run away from many things. Raccoons, however, are not one of those things.

The Redskins running back recently recounted to the Washington Post a tale of a raccoon run-in a few years ago, and it's not pretty.

One summer during Morris' time at Florida Atlantic, he and a few friends were coming back from McDonald's when they noticed a raccoon in the parking lot.

Because it was still light outside, Morris became suspicious of the animal's intentions. And it didn't take the raccoon long to attack.

"All of a sudden I looked down and it was charging at me," Morris said. "So I jumped, and when I jumped one of my sandals fell off. He went running past me, stopped and grabbed my sandal. I yelled, 'He got my sandal!' and went chasing after him."

The raccoon tried to hide under a car, but the sandal got caught on the bumper and fell out of its mouth. Relieved, Morris took his shoe back.

But the raccoon chased after them again, so one of Morris' friends had to scare it away.

Maybe if opposing defenses had the bravado of that raccoon, Morris wouldn't be having such a successful season.
