It's hard to imagine a worse start to a marriage than what Olympic skier Bode Miller and his wife, Morgan, have had to endure.
The couple, married in early October, were golfing this week near their home in San Diego when Bode accidentally nailed Morgan in the face with a ball.
Morgan, a professional volleyball player and model, tweeted a photo of the result. It's not pretty.
Bode clearly felt awful about the whole situation.

For her part, Morgan was somehow able to make light of the accident. Along with a photo of her eye, she wrote the following note on her Instagram page:
"I'm not feeling so hot. Line drive to the face today with a golf ball from my darling husband. I still love him but #ouch"
Morgan had surgery after the injury, and Bode tweeted that she should make a full recovery.
