On the list of things that you wouldn't want to see in front of your house in the morning, a 10-foot alligator is probably in the top five.

Well, that's exactly what Tom Strocchio of New Tampa, Florida, saw in his front yard recently. Luckily, Strocchio and his son hadn't left their house yet. They called for an animal trapper, who managed to subdue the alligator and tie its mouth shut.

Upon hearing that the animal would be processed and its meat sold, Strocchio went out and ordered some alligator tail. Sure enough, he enjoyed it.

"It's not bad," Strocchio says, "at the top of the food chain."
