Just about the only thing that went well for Rice on Thursday in its 49-24 loss to UCLA was its marching band.

Performing during halftime, the Rice marching band decided to needle UCLA's Los Angeles rivals, USC. The band, known as the MOB (Marching Owl Band), spelled out "U$C," a reference to the former USC players who received money and gifts from agents.

The MOB was familiar with that formation, as just last year they mocked Texas A&M's move to the Southeastern Conference by spelling out "$EC" during a game against Texas.

The marching band, which dubs itself as "not your average marching band," is known for its quirky performances.
