When it comes to his cameo appearance in "The Dark Knight Rises" movie, Hines Ward isn't afraid to say he was afraid. Ward was on familiar ground at Heinz Field for his scene, but this time he was trying to outrun more than just defenders.

Check out this trailer with Ward, who just retired from the Steelers after 14 seasons and two Super Bowl titles, showing off his speed starting at the 1:23 mark:

"I've run scared before but I really ran scared that day," Ward told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "They told me, 'Don't look back.' I felt the explosion when I was running. I had to wear earplugs. Usually, I'm smiling when I'm running, but that day I was actually screaming."

Sounds a little more intense than winning "Dancing With The Stars."

Ben Roethlisberger, Troy Polamalu, Mike Wallace and former Steelers coach Bill Cowher also appear in the film, which opens Friday. One of the Steelers' co-owners Thomas Tull helped produce it.

"To be involved in this trilogy is an incredible experience," Tull told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "To have the privilege of working with Chris Nolan, as good a filmmaker as there is in the world, and with our partners at Warner Bros., where nobody does a better job of rolling a film out, it's incredibly exciting.

"It would be hard to draw it up any better."
