Nobody denies that Alex Rodriguez is a beloved figured for celebrity gossip writers, but generally speaking, he almost never goes into great detail on the women he's dated.

Until now.

A-Rod commented publicly for the first time about his relationship with actress Cameron Diaz. The Yankees' star talked to "The Insider" about his ex-girlfriend, but he used her initials instead of first or last name.

"I don't like talking about my relationships, but I will tell you about CD: She’s probably one of the greatest human beings I’ve ever met, and just an amazing light," Rodriguez said according to the NY Post.

Rodriguez, 36, asked about tying the knot again, didn't seem very excited about the idea. "I'm not sure."

A-Rod admitted that he's got a new role model in life and it just happens to be one of Hollywood's leading men.

“I think my new hero is George Clooney,” … “He’s my new role model,” Rodriguez told The Insider (via NY Post) of Clooney. “I think he’s done it right.”

Incidentally, A-Rod's new girlfriend, Torrie Wilson, a former WWE Diva, is good friends with Clooney's latest reported squeeze, Stacy Kielber.

The Bronx Bomber could have also used his teammate Derek Jeter as inspiration for a famous person who's lived the single life to its fullest.

In other words, while Rodriguez might walk down the first base line, he'll leave the aisle to others.

Host Kevin Frazier's full interview with A-Rod on "The Insider" will be broadcast on Thursday night.
