Let's face it, pro sports needs a few more celebrity couples.
It appears that Jenny McCarthy found a new love interest, who just happens to be one of the NFL's defensive stars. The former Playboy Playmate of the Year and Chicago native has fallen hard for Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.
Chicago Sun-Times gossip columnist Bill Zwecker quotes McCarthy's longtime friend as saying the actress and model has "really fallen" for the popular defensive star, who's described as the "most macho guy" Jenny's dated in a long time.
Urlacher, 33, has been voted into eight Pro Bowls and was selected as a member of the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team. Divorced, he's the father of two daughters and a son.
McCarthy, 39, also divorced, has a son who was diagnosed with autism. Subsequently, she became an activist, making several claims about the cause of autism and what she believes can cure it.
The friend of the South Side native tells the Sun-Times, McCarthy "Loves the attention and the way he treats her. It’s very comforting."
Should the relationship continue into the season, this will be the the second celebrity couple in the Bears locker room. Quarterback Jay Cutler is expecting a baby with reality television personality Kristin Cavallari.
Going public with their new romance, McCarthy and Urlacher, who last week were spotted in Beverly Hills, had several more widely seen appearances around the Windy City over the weekend.
