Tim Tebow is waiting till marriage, but another star NFL quarterback is enjoying the perks of the single life.
The New York Post reports Mark Sanchez has been spending lots of his free time with bombshell Kate Upton. The Jets quarterback is said to be "paying frequent late-night visits" to the 19-year-old's Manhattan apartment. The Post reports Sanchez has been spotted at the Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model's pad even before Jets practices.
Sanchez, 25, travels around Manhattan in a black chauffeur-driven Navigator. That vehicle has been seen at Upton's apartment as late as midnight. The Post reports the Jets quarterback was also recently seen bringing gifts to the model after a charity appearance.
Kate Upton's sister, Christie Upton, is manager of client relations for the Jets and works closely with Sanchez. The Jets star was apparently hoping to keep this relationship out of the tabloids. So much for that.
"They never come in together. He’s always five steps after her," a source told the Post. A separate source claimed the model and quarterback are "just friends." Maybe Kate is just a huge Gang Green fan? She has attended a few Jets games this season.
Gossip lovers might remember that singer Kanye West was linked briefly to Upton last year. Upton was tabbed "rookie of the year," for her appearance in SI's swimsuit issues. (Who knew they even had such an award?)
The Daily Mail reported that Upton is a student at Indiana University, majoring in horn performance, and has a passion for riding horses.
On the field, Sanchez has the Jets fighting to get back to the playoffs this season. The former USC star has 23 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions this season. Sanchez is 16th in quarterback rating behind Carolina Panthers rookie Cam Newton. It's been a magical ride early in his NFL career, though. Sanchez and Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger are the only two quarterbacks in NFL history to reach the conference championship game in their first two seasons in the league.
For those of you keeping track of Sanchez's statistics off the field, he's seemingly completed a higher percentage of passes with the ladies than Jets receivers (56.9 percent). Sanchez has been linked to Hayden Panettiere and Jamie-Lynn Sigler (among others) over his first two seasons living in New York City.
