Larry Fitzgerald is the best receiver this side of Calvin Johnson, but he's also very creative when it comes to combining social media and charity. The Arizona Cardinals star has been touched by the tragedy of breast cancer. His mother, Carol, died from the disease in 2003. Larry's decided to do something creative about it.
The NFL has gone pink this month in support of breast cancer awareness, the color has been splashed all over games for the entire month of October.
Fitzgerald, who frequently calls for women to get tested for the illness, launched a plan to donate $1,000 per catch and $10,000 for each touchdown scored this month to breast cancer research. With eight catches in the Cards' heartbreaking loss to the Giants, Larry has already ticketed $8,000 to the charity.
But earlier this week, he raised the stakes on Twitter. He offered to donate a dime for every new follower this month.
Fitzgerald was up to 968,535 followers as of last night, raising an extra $3,332 dollars from his 33,325 new social media fans in just 24 hours. Make sure you add to that total by following him at @LarryFitzgerald.
