Every now and then you probably overindulge on a pizza with a friend, but chances are pretty good you don't gulp it down in less than 15 minutes.

Eric "Silo" Dahl and Randy "Atlas" Santel are the new tag-team pizza-eating champs after joining forces to scarf down a 30-inch, two-topping pizza pie in a mind boggling 14 minutes and 15 seconds to set a new competitive eating mark.

KARE-TV 11, reports the previous record was around 23 minutes at Randy's Premiere Pizza, in Oakdale, Minn.

Over the weekend "Silo", 20, and "Atlas", 25, took their eating talents to Polito's Pizza in La Crosse, Wisc. The best pie eating roadshow in America annihilated the 12 lb. pizza in 9 minutes and 59 seconds. The monster dish included five lbs. of dough, 2.5 lbs. of cheese, two lbs. of sausage, 1.5 lbs. of sauce, and a pound of pepperoni. For all that, the guys got $500 and probably one heck of a stomachache.

The La Crosse Tribune reports Dahl is a student at the University of Madison and is studying computing engineering. Just this past February, he turned to competitive eating after wolfing down a three-pound cheesesteak in less than six minutes.

Santel gave up a career as a concrete estimator to focus full-time on a career in competitive eating. He didn't let his girlfriend, Micaela Hill, know right away about his ability to eat like a horse. Yet she travels to cheer him on as he pigs out. Eventually, "Atlas" would like a career in the field of fitness, possibly as a nutritionist. Seriously.
