The Dallas Cowboys had a surprise addition to their sidelines during the first night practice of training camp.

Wearing his signature gray suit and red bowtie was the iconic entertainer known as Pee-wee Herman.

Paul Reubens (his real name) attended Thursday's practice and posed for pictures with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, QB Tony Romo and TE Martellus Bennett after practice.

The San Antonio Express-News reports the 58-year-old actor and comedian was in the Alamo to tape an episode of "Top Chef" in San Antonio, which was a big part of his 1980s movie "Pee-wee's Big Adventure."

Left guard Kyle Kosier was the first player to notice Pee-wee on the sidelines in the middle of the Cowboys' two-minute drill. TE Jason Witten told the Dallas Morning News "there were only three guys in the Dallas huddle who knew who he was."

"I'm here to try out for the Cowboys," Reubens joked. The way Dallas played last season, he couldn't have been much worse than the bums wearing Cowboys uniforms.
