The story resonated because it tackled an issue that is widespread, and unfortunately too many kids have had parents who marred their youth sports experience.
Peter Berg, who directed the Friday Night Lights movie, takes a closer look at this family dynamic in the new HBO documentary series State Of Play. HBO is promoting the first episode as a "compelling and engaging examination of the obsession a growing number of parents have with the scholastic athletic competition of their children."
