Lil Wayne tried to confront a referee at a recent anti-violence charity basketball game.

The irony is impossible to ignore.

The 32-year-old rapper was coaching the “Young Money” team Sunday at the fourth annual St. Louis Celebrity Basketball Game. The proceeds from the contest went to Put Down the Pistol, a local anti-gun violence group.

According to TMZ, Lil Wayne got quite upset with some of the calls. At one point he tried to confront one of the referees and things got really ugly:

The game had to be stopped and the police were called. No arrests were made.

As if the video wasn't bad enough, witnesses told TMZ that Lil Wayne had spit on the ref before the clip starts.

These are frustrating times for Lil Wayne, whose upcoming album "Carter V" has been delayed for a while. Still, nothing justifies Wayne's actions at the game.
