A recent pickup game between boyfriend and girlfriend took a wild twist when a fake injury turned into a marriage proposal.

Brey Dorsett, a former basketball player at Johnson C. Smith University, thought she was just playing a game with her boyfriend, former N.C. State guard Alex Johnson. But the contest turned into much, much more.

At about the 35-second mark of this video, Johnson fakes an injury and falls to the floor. A buddy comes to his side and discreetly hands him a ring. Dorsett's reaction is priceless:

Well done, Alex.

Brey was clearly shocked but, like any true competitor, she still wanted to win the game. Notice how she's looking for the ball so she can beat her now-fiancee.

The original video on YouTube already has more than two million views.

Here's a better look at the ring:

The proposal was inspired by the movie "Love & Basketball," in which Sanaa Lathan's and Omar Epps's characters play a game that also results in a lifelong commitment.

Here's the memorable scene from that movie:

This may not be the last we hear from Johnson and Dorsett. The couple is asking for suggestions for their next move:
