Physically speaking, tennis and poker have little in common. Mentally, however, the sports share a certain competitiveness that has allowed novice Rafael Nadal to advance considerably in a short period of time.

The 27-year-old top-ranked tennis superstar, who has won a total of 13 Grand Slams, beat out several other athletes as well as a poker pro last month at the EPT Charity Challenge in Prague.

In this video, which chronicles Nadal at the early stages of his poker development, we see the Spaniard coming to grips with the game's basics. His tutor also explains why Nadal's extreme will to win should help him in his new venture.
