Because their franchise name is the Royals, members of the Kansas City team are also admitting that they are excited about the birth of the Royal baby. So excited, in fact, that Eric Hosmer, James Shields and Hall of Famer George Brett volunteered to be royal baby food tasters, a spoof on the legend of the people who ate the royals' food before them to ensure it wasn't poisoned.

The Royal baby, for the record, is said to be due sometime this month.
