With all the PED news that's plagued Major League Baseball in recent days, you can't blame commissioner Bud Selig if he's having flashbacks to the year 2000.

But that's no excuse for flubbing the announcement of several of the top picks in this year's Draft, as Selig did on Thursday.

When he announced the first overall pick of the Draft, Selig said the following:

“With the first selection of the 2000 first-year player draft, the Houston Astros select Mark Appel, right-handed pitcher from Stanford University, Palo Alto, California." Yikes.

Selig repeated the mistake for the sixth and eighth picks.

Someone get this man a plane ticket.
