Human beings cannot yet fly, but Alexander Polli is pretty close. Polli, a body flight professional, released a video on his Facebook page this week of him diving through the mountains of New Zealand, Switzerland and Norway with the help of a "wingsuit."

The wingsuit is a piece of equipment made from the same material as hot air balloons and parachutes. The device, which has been subject to controversy this summer after a Norwegian man was killed when the parachute on his wingsuit failed to open, can cost around $1,200.

Similar to BASE jumpers, wingsuit flyers start at a high altitude and hope for a strong breeze. What Polli does in the video is incredibly dangerous, but when done correctly, it can produce breathtaking views.

Wingusits are banned in many public places across the United States, including national parks, and it's not hard to see why.
