First, David Ross figuratively stole second base. Later, he literally stole second base.

In the top of the seventh inning of Wednesday's Atlanta Braves-Philadelphia Phillies game, Braves catcher David Ross stole second base. It was a footnote in a game the Braves had comfortably in hand, but it was a huge moment for Ross. After 636 games and 10 years in the big leagues, it was Ross' first steal.

And the best part? He did it standing up.

"If Lou Brock and Rickey Henderson can go in standing up on their first career stolen bases, why can't David Ross?" Ross told the Tallahassee Democrat.

After the game, Ross took the base and plans to keep it at home.

"The bag is going in my house so everyone knows," Ross said. "I am pretty proud of it."
