Critics of soccer in America are constantly looking for ways to make the game more exciting. Not enough happens, they say. There aren't enough goals and the game plods along too slowly.

Well, Scandinavians are quite fond of soccer, and generally have no qualms with the sport. But that hasn't stopped a Norwegian television show from adding a little spark. Former professional players (and most importantly, the referee) were outfitted with shock collars built to train dogs. You can imagine how ridiculous this gets.

How Norwegians beat us to this, we'll never know. This is the kind of innovation that would have kept the XFL alive for at least two more seasons. The inspiration for the idea totally makes sense, too. As a fan, if you haven't ever wanted to shock the opposing team, well, you're probably doing it wrong.
