New Kevin Durant Shoes Inspired By Blue Crabs

Already this year we've seen special shoes inspired by Honey Nut Cheerios and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but foodies will be happy to know this trend is far from over.

Kevin Durant and Nike have announced the release of a special edition KD VIs inspired by Maryland blue crabs.

For those who are unfamiliar, crab feasts are a summer staple in the Mid-Atlantic region. In a video Durant, who is from Washington, D.C., explains that he and his family used to have several crab feasts a year.

"The culture from where I come from, crab is a big deal,” Durant says.

Here's what Nike had to say about the shoe, which is released Nov. 29:

"With color, graphics and textures mimicking a blue crab indigenous to Maryland, the high performance shoe can double as a showpiece. The details are unmistakable: exact pantone colors matching the legs and pinchers of a blue crab, with textured effects on the shoe’s upper and KD logo matching a crab’s shell. The KD-logo hologram on the outsole brings the theme full circle with crab legs and pinchers."
