There was only one place that Cam Newton wanted to be after pulling off a Monday night victory over the New England Patriots, arguably the biggest win of his career.

Waffle House.

So Newton and his family hit up the popular breakfast joint after he became just the second quarterback to throw a go-ahead touchdown pass against the Bill Belichick-coached Patriots in the final minute of a game (the other, of course, is Eli Manning).

"I order scrambled eggs, hash browns and cheese grits in one bowl with a light waffle ... extremely light waffle,'' Newton said. "Ah, man, to die for.''

Newton was sensational on Monday, throwing three touchdowns and leading the Panthers on a game-winning drive. His performance might have even put him in the MVP conversation.

The Waffle House is a popular choice for Newton's Carolina teammates and even his former offensive coordinator.

With the game ending at around 11:30 p.m. local time and a trip to Waffle House following, the third-year quarterback got to bed at around 4 a.m. Tuesday. But at least he was full.
