One of the world's fastest growing sports is 3-on-3 basketball. The 2020 Olympics in Tokyo will feature a 3-on-3 competition. Hall of Fame basketball coach and longtime Nike executive George Raveling predicted in 2017 that the NCAA will sanction a national 3-on-3 championship within 15 years. And the Big3, co-founded by Ice Cube, is in its third season.

TheBig3 features former NBA stars, including Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, Stephen Jackson and three-time dunk champion Nate Robinson. It has also earned kudos for the hiring of women head coaches (Nancy Lieberman, Lisa Leslie) and a top executive (Amy Trask) and also its approval of CBD for pain management.

With the Big3 continuing to build steam, HBO's Real Sports takes a closer look. Here's a sneak peek of the story on Ice Cube and his league from the latest Real Sports report that premieres Tuesday July 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
