Designer Ronnie Fieg had a vision in November 2011: Develop a hybrid lifestyle and retail brand for men and women.
Five years later, Kith is a fixture of New York City culture, pushing its name into other parts of the country and other realms of business. Kith currently has two stores in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and a women's store in Manhattan (and a cereal bar in the Brooklyn establishment).
Partners include athletic brands such as Adidas, ASICS, Converse, Nike, New Balance, Puma and Vans, and fashion icons such as Alexander Wang, Giueseppe Zanotti, Phillip Lim and John Elliott. The diversity allows Kith to merge sportswear with modern fashion.
On Tuesday, Kith reached a new level. Fieg hosted the brand's first-ever fashion show, Kithland, in New York City's meatpacking district. Celebrities in attendance included Victor Cruz, Iman Shumpert, Teyana Taylor, Bella Hadid, Rick Ross, Jourdan Dunn, Victor Oladipo, Joey Bada$$ and A-Trak. Fabolous, The Lox and Mase opened up the show, and Ja Rule and A$AP Rocky closed it.
Samsung 837, Samsung's NYC hub of showcasing products, hosted the fashion show. Kith and Samsung plan on collaborating in future tech accessories and virtual reality experiences as Kith adds a tech aspect to its modern brand image.
